when the person you have been with for the best part of two years, whom you genuinely believe you are going to spend the rest of your life with and have believed through the entire relationship that the unique bond and connection and ultimately love that was shared was mutual and eternal, when that person turns round and tells you they no longer wish to be with you romantically because they don’t feel as though they can be themselves with you. when you believed the entire time that they were showcasing their true self, they were most at home with you.
